HSBC UK Preston branch reopens doors with fresh new look and feel
- Preston branch at 49A Fishergate reopens after six-month closure
- New features of extensive refurb include accessible interview rooms, open-plan spaces, LED lighting, beautiful artwork and enhanced digital tools
- This forms part of HSBC UK’s pledge to invest £55 million into its branch network in 2026
The HSBC UK Preston branch has reopened its doors to customers following a six-month refurbishment, with an uplifted, bright space for customers and colleagues to enjoy.
The uplifted open-plan space now includes a larger counter area for customers to easily access in-person support, as well as fully accessible interview rooms for those who need to manage their banking in a more private space.
The entire ground floor features a reimagined layout designed and tailored to meet customer needs. This includes a modern meeting area aimed at providing customers with fast service and tailored help, with a large seating space and two height adjustable tablet tables to help customers with their digital needs. The customer waiting area has also been fully refurbished with new sofas and a low table.
The entire branch has been redecorated with beautiful, illuminated graphics and art throughout, and has LED lighting fitted on all floors in order to create a much lighter, airier space. It has also been kitted out with new, stylish furniture to match the refreshed look and feel.
On the first floor, there is a refreshed customer waiting area with powered tables where they can charge devices, and a new redecorated board room.
This latest refurbishment aligns to HSBC UK’s commitment to invest more than £55 million into its network of 327 branches this year, as well as its promise to keep all branches open until at least 2027.
On top of investing into its branch network, HSBC UK continues to expand the variety and number of banking touchpoints in local communities across the UK, including through HSBC Local events, shared Banking Hubs and Cash Access UK devices.
Other new features of the Preston branch refurbishment include:
- Tablets have also been allocated to the self-service section of the branch in order to improve the customer journey of those who wish to self-serve.
- Two new customer internet and telephone touch-points installed on ground floor to assist customers with Digital journeys.
- Full heating, ventilation and air conditioning system replacement throughout entire branch.
- Brand-new signage and refreshed shopfront outside the branch.
Iain Adams, HSBC UK’s Area Director, said: “We are continuing to invest millions of pounds into our branch network to create the best environment possible for our customers and colleagues.
“The changes that we have made to our Preston branch will mean customers have a much more modern space to utilise for their banking needs, with a focus on improved, customer-friendly features.
“We are investing in community touchpoints across the UK because face-to-face banking remains a valuable channel for customers, particularly when they are navigating a complex financial issue, or discussing how a major life event will affect their finances.
“Customers are also increasingly using online and mobile banking to take control of their finances, turning to different channels for some interactions, which is why we also continue to invest in digital capabilities. Whatever the customer’s preference, we are here for them in Preston”
