HSBC UK unveils new, enhanced Premier offering as it targets UK’s mass affluent market
HSBC UK is unveiling more than forty new or enhanced features for Premier customers as it re-launches its flagship fee-free premium account.
The new features available through HSBC UK’s Premier account are designed around the key themes of wealth, international and travel – with an additional ‘health’ benefits range launching next year.
Premier already gives customers access to worldwide travel insurance, preferred products, specialist advice and a range of exclusive benefits and rewards. Now customers get even more, with the introduction of 24/7 customer service, a brand-new digital planning tool called Future Planner, and an enhanced range of storefront discounts. Subject to fees and eligibility, there’s also specialist wealth advice, tailored wealth solutions, and airmiles, lounge access, hotel and dining offers with the Premier World Elite Credit Card.
Earlier this year, HSBC UK revealed its plans to double its assets under management by 2028 to £100 billion. Targeting the mass affluent market, which comprises half of UK wealth, is a key focus to achieve this aim. It is estimated that there are 16.6 million mass affluent current account holders in the UK, with this figure expected to increase by a further 1 million by 2028.
Jose Carvalho, Head of Wealth and Personal Banking at HSBC UK, said: “We believe Premier is the best current account on the market for mass affluent customers. We know the things our customers love the most about their Premier account, so we’ve designed new features that build on those to make a real difference to our customers – and all still without any monthly account fees.
“From 24/7 service and a new Future Planner digital tool to support financial planning, to worldwide travel insurance for the whole family and access to preferential rates, products and partner offers, Premier provides support for aspirational customers with busy, international lifestyles. A host of health benefits will launch early next year.
